Who We Are:

Anagram Events is the trading name for Tim Porter, an experienced event professional with nearly 20 years experience in the events industry including over 15 years with Reed Exhibitions, the worlds largest exhibition organiser.

Tim has undertaken roles including senior P&L business management, portfolio development, international brand development & support, acquisitions, disposals and partnerships throughout the UK, Europe, India & Middle East in a wide range of industries and markets, always with a strong emphasis on new business and product development.

This experience gained across a diverse number of industries, countries and venues means Anagram Events can call on an impressive array of industry contacts and 3rd party contractors to help with delivery and implementation of events and projects of all types and sizes.

After starting out in publishing, Tim got his first taste of the exhibition world with Blenheim Online at the end of the 1980s, and since then has been involved in a wide range of projects including most recently:

  • Managing Reed Exhibitions UK defence portfolio throughout the period when this business was being publicly sold by parent company Reed Elsevier. This included full responsibility for delivering one of the UK's most high-profile and technically complex events ever, the "ExCeL-filling" DSEi 2007.

  • Developing and implementing a market entry strategy for entry into India, including identification of potential partners, research and development of suitable event brands, co-ordination of international brand owners and agent networks with local teams, support of local management in all areas of the business, and remote management of several launch projects. This included two of the first ever event acquisitions undertaken in India, including setting up local systems for legal and financial due diligence processes.

  • Creating and implementing a globally successful cloning campaign which saw the "Infosecurity" event brand grow from its base in the UK to be staged in over a dozen countries. The event cloning process involved the creation and management of a number of joint ventures, and development of a global brand management policy and customer loyalty scheme.
  • Managing and supporting the launch editions of over 30 events across a number of industries worldwide, in a variety of management, marketing and sales capacities.
